Dark Linings

The Library of Congress offers advice in thinking critically. It suggests practicing:
  1. Chronological Thinking
  2. Historical Comprehension
  3. Historical Analysis and Interpretation
  4. Historical Issue-Analysis and Decision-Making
This is always good advice to follow when reading any editorial.

The first two help you keep what you're reading in context. With that context, number 3 is made easier. Deciding whether you agree with the editorial comes with number 4.

The following links are to articles that describe situations and events that should be contemplated with caution. What may sound like a progressive development can sometimes go awry. A promising plan may not be recognizable 5 years down the road.
