This outfit was designed to be worn to the 2002 Ivey Semi-Formal dance. I wanted to have something unique and not have to worry about wearing the same thing as anyone else. I think I succeeded in that :)

The gown is a Kimono from Butterick's pattern #6698.

The Corset is a recreation civil war corset from Simplicity's pattern #9769. As a cautionary note, if you thinking of making or wearing one of these corsets, make sure you design your outfit with something over or under the corset that will "cover your modesty". This corset is simply not designed to be worn alone. It is however designed to cinch nicely, so if you are wanting that shapely Scarlet O'Hara waist, this is the garment for you. It works and it works well, though I am not extremely laced in any of the images on this page.

And the dress goes out on the town.
