Today is a GREAT day! Nearly three weeks ahead of schedule, Basil's bone is completely healed. The vet and surgeon have never seen anything like it. Thank God! We get to skip all the phases of rehab although I've let Basil do a bunch of stuff I'm not supposed to. Anyway, no more sling and we can start walks. The vet basically said that the worst that could happen is Basil will get too sore. She also said that Basil will let me know when he's had enough. So, he has to stay on his leash but now he can greet other dogs and play with them. Just no free running quite yet. The surgeon would like 4 weeks of increasing rehab (walks, swimming, sit/stand exercises) and then he can go back to doggy day care and playing like a regular puppy! I'm so excited! Basil's daddy will be coming for a visit this weekend and Basil will be able to play with him.
