Welcome To Paradise

My parents are John Arthur Evans and Barbara G. Deaton.

My wife and I are two of the lucky people who got to retire early. After living all our lives in a climate that was cold in the winter and hot in the summer we decided to look for a place with good weather. We chose a small village in Ajijic, Jalisco Mexico as our new home. Not only is the climate as close to perfect as you can get, (no heat or air conditioning), there are a large number of Americans and Canadians living in this area, so we don't feel so alone.  For interesting articles on the Chapala/Ajijic area see the El Ojo Del Lago   (this is a free paper called "Eye of the Lake").

My wife has been doing family research for a few years and decided to do this site in order to share the little information that we have. Hopefully we can build on what we have and keep the family history alive. Please, feel free to e-mail us and visit the site often.
