Languages

Since the people of the United States and Canada have different ethnic backgrounds the culture in this region can vary. For instance, many immigrants seek refuge here because the sek religous freedom. people started coming to the u.s. and canada since about 1774, seeking freedom from the countries that did not allow them to worship freely. This is why there are so many different languages in this region. some of these languages include: English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and many more.

 

Music

Music has also been a very big part in this regions culture. Native American's used drumn , flutes, and chants to worship gods or just for entertainment.Later, Europeans brought folk and religous music to the region. This folk music was then mixed with African rhythms to make jazz.

 

Literature

At first, American literature was influenced mainly on European historical and religious themes. However, later writers like Nathaniel Hawthorne started writing stories about North America.

 

Lifestyles

As citezens of two of the world's wealthiest countries, most people in the United States and Canada enjoy a high standard of living. Their level of income and education, means having the advantage of many personal choices and opportunities. Because the region has an agricultural surplus, foods are relatively inexpensive. Housing varies to suit the needs of families and varies in different parts of the region.
