All began when I heard John Renbourn playing "South Wind". The misterious sound of the open tunings inloved me and I will try to imitate on the guitar. After a trip to London, where I managed to find books and records, I purchased some Grossman productions. I heard Grossman and I was inloved with his style and tunes. That was really fingerpicking. I learned open tuning songs but every day I heard Grossman I said to myself: "one day, eventually, I must learn that thing". Some years have passed.
I could not find anyone who could play fingerpicking. I looked for fingerpicking people in the interenet and I met Artur Nadal. We talked a lot about fingerpicking and I visited him one weekend. When I saw him I thought: He is a great fingerpicking guitar player (however he does not think so). Then I learned my first fingerpicking lesson. I'm still learning and I try some rags.
As you can see, this web site is a try to extend the fingerpicking all over the world, but specially in the Basque Country. We are trying to contact other people interested in this wonderful style of guitar playing. Don't worry, toghether we will learn and improve!
