This year Portugal as well tried to do an operacion triumfo program in order to choose their Eurovision Song. They had a problem though as preperations started too late and due to time limitations they had to cancel the program and have an internal selection.
RTP then chose Rita Guerra as singer, and asked the public to submit in songs and after that an internal jury chose three songs amongst those received. These three songs were performed in a Gala Night od Operacao Triumfo. The winning song was then selected by televoting.
The winning song is called Deixa-Me Sonhar (so mais uma ver) and is on a ballad style.
