Birgitta Haukdal won the right to represent Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest after winning the Songvakeppnin gaining double the votes of the song which placed second.
Birgitta who is the lead singer of a group called Irafar will be singing the song called Segou Mer Alt (Tell Me Everything)
This wasn't the first time that Birgitta took part in the Icelandic NAtional Final, in fact she placed 7th in the last final held in 2001. She had sung in a duet with Eyjolfur Kristjannsos, the song called Aftur Heim (Home Again)
