Today was an interesting experience in the french culture. I got to go to a concert in Strasbourg, a day long concert in fact. It was different, experiencing the french music. It's sort of reggae sounding, but in french. At least, the bands Aude listens to is. I don't know if they all listen to this type of music. In fact, on the radio, are songs that were 'radio popular' a couple of months ago for us. So they were playing songs like Sk8er Boi and the such. Although they were playing Madonna's American Life, so maybe it's just the Canadian music that they're behind with. Anyway the concert.
We took the train there, to Strasbourg, and then were picked up by Aude's brother and a few of his friends. I was fine with them, except, like Aude, they all smoked like chimneys. The smoke really got to me today. Being inside a smoke filled building from three till twelve can do that to you. So I spent a lot of my time outside.
I'm not saying I didn't appreciate the concert, but I got pretty bored at some parts. I enjoyed the first band and the last, and that's about it. For the remainder of the time.. I was bored. I didn't really know anyone there but Aude, and I didn't feel like spending my time getting thrown around in the crowd, so I was outside for the mostpart. And the smoke was awful. It was smog by the end of the night. There's not really much more to tell, except the crepe I had was nowhere near the level of goodness as was the first one I had. It was amateur. I did have fun watching them make the crepes, though.
The ride home was uneventful; we got driven, and I slept most of the way. Then I crawled into bed once we got home, being late and I had to get up early the next day for a day road trip. That's all.
It is also important to note that I tried something very new today. At lunch I tried duck. I must say that I didn't actually enjoy it, and will never eat it again. But I have tried it and thats something new. When in France....
