I may have already mentioned that I am a very nostalgic person. Actually, it is very natural for people to be yearn for pleasant memories, and everyone is nostalgic to some extent. The important thing is not to cling on to these thoughts and to learn to move on. So, I hope that the following songs, which are stored in Real Audio format, will be able to stir up some of these memories in you also. To listen to the songs live, just click on the song titles(but you must have the Real Player plug-in first).

01

The classic Xinyao song. This song first came out in 1988 during the 'Golden Era' of Singapore local chinese music and has enjoyed a resurrection 10 years later in the 'Sing Singapore' campaign. This is the original version sung in part by the composer himself. From Huji Leisure City.

02

Same song as above. This is the (more commercial?) version from the 'Sing Singapore' campaign, sung by a new bunch of aspiring local singers. But this time round, all the voices are female! From Sing Singapore.

03

Another popular Xinyao. This song can sometimes still be heard on television on Sunday mornings in a local 'MTV' sung by lots of small children in uniform. Never fails to bring back fond memories of days as a student and the mischief we were always up to. From Huji Leisure City.

04

This is a Cantonese song with a very nice melody. It came from the soundtrack of 'He's the Woman, She's the Man'. Whenever I listen to this song, the image of Anita Yuen sprinting down the streets from the movie will pop up. It serves as a reminder of the goals which I had pursued, those of which have been lost and some which I am still 'chasing'. From Popstation.

05

A very touching song from the Little Tigers. This song was released in 1992 after one of their members returned from National Service, and describes the feelings of joy at the reunion. The lyrics are enough to make anyone away from home think back on the last time they bade farewell to their loved ones and friends. From Forever Nicky Wu.

06

Another song by the Little Tigers. This one tells us to live our youth and dreams free as the butterflies in the sky. Very sad song to listen to if you are not young anymore. From Forever Nicky Wu.

Due to time and space constraints, this will be all for the moment. Also, the English song section will be up soon as I am still in the process of locating some of the songs. Hope you enjoyed the songs and do check back later!
