Fire and Ice, Murdon Poetry

Beneath the canopy of bejeweled twilight
fiery seduction
lay sleepless in the company of golden perfection
And in secretion he
crept soundlessly away as noiseless wake lured forth his lovely youth
Kalieska, daughter of fire and gold

In silence she pursued him through wood and shadow, ever toward their destination
to where icy affection was found lingering
Awaiting ice and fire to be reunited, while the eyes of innocence beheld
the sight of sire's betrayal to dam

Yet, paralyzed with curiosity, she did not flee
but kept watched instead
As sadistic fire embraced ice in cruelty as much as affection
beautiful to behold, yet abhorred
