Frequently Asked Questions

General

What does "ML" mean?
ML is an abbreviation for The Murdon Legacy, the name of the overall site.

What does "LC" mean?
LC is an abbreviation for Legacy Critter, which is used to describe the critters adopted at the ML, especially when talking about more than one species.

How do I join?
Read the Rules and Information section of this site. It should answer all your questions. There's also a section on the forum that discusses this.

How do I get an LC?
Join the ML first, of all! You'll receive one LC automatically upon becoming an official member. After that, there are raffles, contests, and events in which you can acquire more. Mem also accepts trades and the occasional commission.

Legacy Critters

What's a Euclides?
The original LC, the first to be created by the murdon. All other species are variations of them.

Is it Euclides or Euclide?
Both, actually. Euclides is singular (pronounced - You-Clide-S) and Euclide is plural (prn. You-Clid-E). Yes, I do understand that's confusing.

What's an Amuni?
A variation of the Euclide, created by Amunuku to kill the Euclide.

What's a Defore?
A variation of the Euclide that evolved from a group that got stuck on the other side of the atlantic ocean, in the western U.S.

What are the Tolkienites and Rowlings?
Cosplay LC based on characters and species from The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.

What's a Murdon?
An alien species stranded on Earth. For more information about the Murdon, please check out this page and read the Euclides and Amuni history.

Roleplay

Where does the roleplay take place?
For the Euclide and Amuni, 19th century England. For the Defore, 19th century United States.

Do I have to roleplay all of my LC?
Heavens no! Some of our members have well over 20, and they're still getting more. It would be impossible to roleplay them all. You may roleplay as many, or as few, as you like, so long as you do roleplay.

What if I want to do an R-rated roleplay?
There's a forum for that, but it's password protected. If you're 16+ and want to roleplay there, send Mem a PM with the date of your birth, and she'll hand you the password. It's vital that you don't give the password to anyone else, though.

What if my RP becomes R-rated?
Inform Mem through PM if she hasn't already noticed, and she'll move the thread to the Boink forum.

How can I become a Judge?
PM Mem and give her a good reason why you'd make a good judge. If she accepts you, you'll be added to the official judge list.

Can I roleplay a human/vampire/werewolf/murdon?
We do accept non-LC characters. You'll have to check out the 'characters' section of the roleplay rules and information. If we're accepting non-LC characters you may apply to play a human/vampire/werewolf/murdon.

Points

How do I get points?
Through roleplaying. There's a section on the form that explains how many points you get for doing things.

What are points for?
To purchase items from The Shoppe, to gain abilities, and to get rank promotions.

I'm an old member. Do I get points for all my previous actions?
Indeed you do. If you need help tracking all your points down, feel free to ask Mem to help you out.

If you put in two LC into one rp would the points count for both of them?
If you have two Euclides in an RP (for the hell of it, I'll use Lexx and Nathaniel), then they both get points. If both Lexx and Nath are in posts 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9, but only Lexx is in posts 11, and 13, then Lexx will get 7 points, while Nathaniel will only get 5, but they will both receive points.

Do the points count in multiple quantities? For example, you meet multiple LCs in a thread, say 3. Do you get 3 points for meeting those three, or just one point for meeting the three LCs in that thread?
Points come in multiple quantities. You'll get 1 point for each new LC you meet. So, if you meet 3 LC in one thread, you'll get three points. Yes indeed.

Do you only get points for the initial meeting, or each time you run into an LC?
You only get a point for the initial meeting. The point is given for each NEW LC you meet.

Making your own Legacy

Where is/or, is there a form for the application?
There's no form or application. Simply PM or e-mail the link to the site to Mem.

Do I need to have there site finished before I send it to you?
It's preferable, but so long as you have most of it fleshed out that's fine. If you'd like to run ideas through me before hand, feel free to do so. I don't bite. It will also save you some work if you make a mistake.

Do we have to make the images ourselves?
Yes. These are your agencies, and it's up to you to run them.

Are the Legacy creatures we create RP-required?
Yes, of course! LC are RP intense!

I know the Euclides are set in Victorian times, but do the other Murdon creatures still remain in that set time, or can we vary?
You can use any timeline/setting you like, so long as they're on a realistic earth. (The only exception is cosplay LC, which should be in their own "mimic" world)
