The gardens had been left untended for about 3 years, and as you can see from the realtor's pic on the previous page, the front had been taken over by pampas grass. The pond had been ringed with a very soft limestone, which probably looked very nice when it was first laid, but after a few Wisconsin winters, it was mostly a crumbling mess. We had our work cut out for us in trying to create an attractive space here.

We've dug out most of the pampas grass and hauled away the stone . . . you can see where I used the salvageable stuff to shore up the low wall around the back of the garden.
Time to roll up our sleeves . . . yuck!.

June 24, 2003 All cleaned up, time to fill 'er up.
Some new stone, a fountain, some driftwood and plants, and a little sand beach . . . quite a different look to it now!
