Crystal Kay, Crystal Kay was born to
an African American father, who was a bassist from New Jersey, and
a Korean-born singer mother. Growing up with professional musicians
as parents, she naturally became a talented singer. Crystal Kay was
born and raised in Japan but she attended an American school, the same
school Beni Arashiro currently attends, the two are good friends. She
is fluent in both English and Japanese, and she has also studied French.
She first debuted her voice at the age of 6 in a television commercial,
with the help of her mother.
After the well-promoted collaboration with m-flo in 2003 and a #2
album, she became known to the public. She scored her first top 10 hit with "Motherland," which was used as the ending theme for the anime
