| Eta Chi Gamma was founded on May 14, 2001 and as of the moment it only exists at the NYIT Central Islip campus. Future goals are to expand to neighboring schools, and eventually even move on to the national level. One of the greatest advantages to being local is that you have a say in what is going on. You become part of what is being created and are responsible for what the organization will be like in the future. A great reward is to come back years from now and see how the organization has grown. |
| The main reason for being in school is to get an education, for that reason nothing will ever come before it.The majority of the sisters in the sorority hold at least a 3.0 GPA. Although the school requires a 2.0, to become a member of the organization we require a 2.5 for active sisters and a 2.75 for officers. |
| Prospects must become friends before they are to be considered to be a member of this organization . Without a strong sense of frienship there would never be a sisterhood. There is no pressure to join, no matter what we will remains friend's because that is what we were first. |
| SCHOOL IS PRIORITY |
| There is no charge to become a member or to stay a member. We get financial backing through fundraisers. This allows us not only to raise money, but also to meet new people on and off campus. |
| A mixer is an event in which only people of specific organizations and those that they invite are allowed to attend. However, members of organizations not hosting the event, are excluded. Eta Chi Gamma does not promote this kinf of event. We believe that it is extremely important to get to know everyone regardless of who they are friends with or the organization they are affiliated with. |
