Pzkpfw IVF2 In response too much better armoured vehicle T-34 and KV, the Germans began to design much more powerful cannons for the Pz IV at the end of 1941. When they were ready there was introduced the new series Pz IV F, passing to call Pz IV F2.

Also it changed the traditional role of tank of support of the series, to turn into active member inside the battalion. Though it continued having a shielding low than its rivals; its cannon was the most powerful in this moment. 200 were produced during the war.
