should be far more concerned with the quality of the herbs, and the quality of
the processing, than with the exact formula. Some brands have 4, 6 or 8 herbs
(e.g. Flor-Essence has 8 herbs). The extra herbs won't hurt, and may be of some
help. But again, the quality of the herbs, and the quality of the processing, is
the most important issue.

Essiac tea, given its name by Rene Caisse ("caisse"
spelt backwards), consists of four main herbs that grow in the wilderness of
Ontario, Canada. The original Essiac tea formula is believed to have its roots
from the native Canadian Ojibway Indians.
The four main herbs that make up
Essiac tea formula are Burdock Root, Slippery
Elm Inner Bark, Sheep Sorrel and Indian Rhubarb Root. If you want to know more

Essiac tea �'s four vital ingredients are now public knowledge because they
appear on the packaging. They are sheep sorrel, turkey rhubarb root, slippery
elm bark and burdock root. However, their identity had leaked out over the years
and eventually a version of the formula appeared in a book by Californian Gary
Glum titled "Calling of an Angel". Glum's recipe became widely publicized
through alternative health writers and publications and by the early 1990's had
inspired a host of entrepreneurs to leap into the market with knockoffs.
From my experience with

bottom line is that I continue to be convinced that David Dobbie is providing a
superior product that faithfully duplicates the decoction Rene Caisse used in
her work. I don't have that confidence in any of the knockoffs. "
