SMATTERING OF NEWS

Yes, a smattering.  First of all, the movie's name has been changed from Final Fantasy:  The Movie to Final Fantasy:  The Spirits Within.  An excellent quality preview of the movie has been included in the FFIX bonus disk.  It has art, information, etc about FFIX as well, so it's a nice thing to have ~_^.

There has been a screensaver released for TSW, it can be downloaded at www.finalfantasy.com . 

A real date has actually been confirmed - 13 July 2001 for the USA, and then it will be released in Japan in the fall.  No European date confirmed yet, (as is typical :p).  It's being marketed toward us Americans, oo ^_^
