SOUNDTRACK AND COMPOSER INFO

Elliot Goldenthal, (composer for In Dreams, Sphere, Interview With A vampire) is the official composer.  Sorry, no Uematsu, he has the games to work on ;_;  

The soundtrack for The Spirits Within is to be released 3 July.  It will feature the songs "The Dream Within" (the FF love theme) sung by Lara Fabian (famous Quebecer, think Celine Dion) and "Spirit Dreams Inside" by L'Arc~En~Ciel (amazing jrock group, I'm absolutely thrilled about this!  Jpop in the US!! (sort of) Now if only Ayumi was singing...)  L'Arc~En~Ciel will, however, sing in English for the US release of the single.  A Japanese version will be released in Japan.  Visit the official Soundtrack Site for yourself.
