So what is Planetia? Planetia is a Massively Multi Player Online Game set in Space, thousands of years in the future. Players have to build ships to defend their planets, and attack other planets in order to steal resources to build more ships. Alliances play a large part in the game and there is a lot of strategy involved, however for the beginner it is an easy game to begin to play and pick up more as they find out from experience and talk to other players on IRC. Games are called 'rounds' and last between 3 and 4 months. Planetia is turn based, and each turn, called a tick lasts for 30 minutes. Ships are built according to how many ticks they need, and research and construction can be done to acquire the ability to build better ships. This is called the Endurance Game. There is another game, called the Racer Game. This has faster ticks which last about 15 minutes, and the rounds last about 4 days.
