Our Charities:

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Danny Thomas, founder

In 1972, ESA adopted St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as its international philanthropic project. By 1975 ESA had raised more than one million dollars and the 4th floor of St. Jude was dedicated to ESAs everywhere in gratitude for their untiring support.

There are no impossible goals in ESA's fund raising effort for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - their belief in the research and treatment procedures initiated at the Hospital has grown, along with the dollars raised each year.

Fund raising activities for St. Jude include:

• Radiothon
• ESA/St. Jude Dream Home
• Math-a-thons

Radiothon: This 2-day event is generally held at a mall, Target Stores or other shopping center. Volunteers are needed from 5am - 9pm to answer pledge phones, separate pledge forms and stuff envelopes. Volunteers are also needed for set-up the evening prior to the event and clean-up following the event.

Some Facts About St. Jude Hospital

• St. Jude Hospital is the only childhood cancer research center designated as such by the National Cancer Institute.
• St. Jude is non-sectarian, interracial and open to patients admitted by physician referral and whose disease is under study at the institution.
• St. Jude Hospital's basic and clinical research findings and accomplishments are freely shared with all physicians and research scientists, extending the benefits of its work beyond its walls to children throughout the world.
• In addition to clinical research programs, St. Jude conducts research in biochemistry, virology, immunology, pharmacology, hematology, pathology, molecular biology, infectious diseases, tumor cell biology, genetics and experimental oncology.

The ESA Foundation is a non-profit/tax exempt organization pledged to develop; philanthropic activities of volunteers, provide assistance to established programs that serve human needs, and produce new programs to improve the quality of life.
