Faeces as a Biogas to provide energy in Indonesia

 

Diamond, diamond is one of the beautiful thing, that useful in the world. Many people want to have diamond. While diamonds found in the natural world are easy to come by , Just like these precious diamonds, we have faeces in our country, eventhough faeces is disgusting but it’s from body. Well, we can’t see only from one side that faeces is unuseful thing, can we make the faeces as good as diamond? Yes, we can.

I am Esa Fandawa, I am tenth grader of SMAN Sumatera Selatan (Sampoerna Academy). I want to tell you about energy resources in Indonesia. Energy resouces is energy that comes from natural resources such as sunlight, wind, water, fossil, animal, plant, and human. There are two kind of energy resources, first is renewable energy and the second is unrenewable energy. Faeces as a biogas is one of the example of renewable energy.

Nowadays, Indonesia has a big problem, as we know that Indonesia is one of the development countries that have big population but low economy level.we need energy resources in our daily activities. How the way to solve this problem?

Okay, ladies and gentleman...

I believe there are many things that need to be changed or improved to prepare for the betterment. The first thing we need to think about our energy. But, before I tell it, I have a question, What do you think about faeces?

I think most of us think that faeces is disgusting, right?Because of the faeces is stink. Almost of the people in the world think that the faeces is ineffective and only a dirt, also can create a disease.

Why do I choose this topic?Indonesia have so many humans and animals, right?

It’s mean that, it will produce so many faeces in Indonesia. Now, we have big problems that happen in Indonesia. we can’t make the  unuseful thing to become useful thing. Because Indonesia have big population, And many people use energy resources in their daily activites. But, the amount of the energy resources are limited. Moreover, rubbish and faeces are two examples of the problems that happen in Indonesia.

We can see from the fact, there are many places that the people still throw their faeces. What are the effect for the environment? It can change the colour of the river, and it will creat many kinds of faeces.

Do you want to get skin deases? No right.

Can we think out of the box to make this bad condition to be good condition? Yes, of course we can.

I think our government should take an action on this.I have a solution, we can use biogas from faeces as alternative oil.The function of faeces are provide the Metan gas to instead the function of unrenewable energy. Well, We can use biogas in our daily activities, we can use it to instead the position of LPG gas, an electricity, to natural fertilizer, to make a decoration, and we can use it as fuel of motorcycle.

Example : San Antonio, one of the city in United States.

Eventhough, it’s only a city. But they have a production scale 140.000 ton faeces/year. But, they can make it become  biogas 1,5 million foot³ /day. And, we can see from the fact that San Antonio is one of the big cities in the world. They have a big energy resources, they have big electricity, and a good environment. But, I believed we can do  much better than them.

So, I am as a student for Indonesian future leader.event, I can’t do much for this problem, but I will ask my friends to do socialization to some place that have a bad environment, we can tell them how important is being clean, and I would like to invite you all to help us to do this program, so we can do it together, to make a betterment.
