To be a painter has been his dream since childhood. Along the way he discovered the path of the illustrators. At sixteen he was accepted as a comic illustrator and one of the youngest then in Philippine Comics Industry. He ramained from the field until in his early thirties. His first published short story illustration was titled "Ang Salamin"(The Mirror) were published in Wakasan in 1968. But he got his real break from Atlas Publication where he contributed numerous comic illustrations. He also contributed to other publishing, Ace, Graphics, NR and Rex publication.
In 1975 he got his first break of doing a mini series titled "Sheila" a novelette written by Rodi Metin and published in Atlas publication. Some of his early novel illustration were "ROC" by Jim Fernandez appeared in Pilipino Komiks, Bakas ng Anino,(Trails of the shadow) Barbara, RED, Alakdan,(Scorpion) Paliligayahin Kita,(I'll make you happy) Rosas and numerous short stories from Love stories, Drama, Horror, Comedy, Science Fiction and Action. He also did illustration in D.C. Comics in U.S. publication with late Nestor Redondo. His career as a comic illustrator and personal plan to go in U.S. like late Nestor Redondo was changed when he accepted the job offer from Vetco Engineering company in  Saudi Arabia.
