About having other authors' work boundLet's get one thing straight: I do this because I want to share my skill, and because I love books and writing, and not because I am out to make a profit. I charge for my work and not for the content. The content is completely free. You can download my stories (and anyone else's) at no cost at all, and have as many copies as you like. No internet author can really stop anyone from doing this, and copyright law prevents authors of fanfic from making a profit from their writing anyway. Now if you want to own a nicer copy, with a proper cover and spine, then I can provide that. But the money I charge you for that pays for the cover and spine and not for the writing contained therein. If you wish to own a copy of a story written by someone else, it is my principle to ask permission from the author first. The author must have given their express permission to me personally for the work to be used before I can go ahead. FanzinesI have the editor's standing permission to bind "Inside a Song", which has its own design (click here to see it) and set prices. For any other zine, the above applies - permission first. With fanzines, it is up to you whether you would like to have your existing copy bound, or if you'd like to pay for a fresh copy. If you choose to have your existing copy done, you need to mail it to me, which costs money, but it probably doesn't cost as much as a brand-new copy. I hold a master copy of "Inside a Song", but the cost of duplication cancels out the saving on postage, pretty much. Email me to get my contact details and mailing address.
