Yesterday 50000 people died that had never heard of Jesus Christ. Another 50000 people will die today without Christ, and again tomorrow. We think this is absolutely horrendous and unacceptable, and are committed to do everything we can to change it.
For us this means working with Youth With A Mission to train young people to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth. So we run Discipleship Training Schools (DTS), to mobilize, mentor and equip young people for the missions field. Our job is to provide a place for people from different nationalities and backgrounds discover the call God has placed on their lives and to champion and empower them to work with God to make it happen

As such, the DTS consists of a lecture phase which is held in Carlisle and a cross-cultural outreach phase. With a focus on evangelism, the 2-3 month outreach phase consists of working with local churches and ministries to reach out to the lost. In the past, as we�ve worked in South Africa, Kenya, Spain, Germany, Sweden and the UK, we�ve seen many people saved, healed and set free by sharing the Gospel and praying with them. Working with the poor and needy, orphans, prisoners, street people, children, displaced youth, adults and the elderly, the student gets a taste of what missions is like and has plenty of opportunities to discover their passions, skills and giftings, as well as God�s call on their life.
As our base is growing we are working toward going from running one DTS per year to two. There is a lot of administration to do in order for it all to work out, and this summer we are busy getting everything ready for our next lot of students.
Our base leaders, Richard and Miriam Lowe, will be going on outreach and furlough from the end of November and have asked us to act as base leaders for the YWAM Carlisle base in their stead whilst they�re away, and we�ve agreed after getting the �go ahead� from the Lord.
We will be taking on the running of the base in December this year and will run a DTS starting in January, taking the outreach to Ghana. This is a massive commitment for us and we will be spending the spring and summer preparing for what is to come.
