South Slope is just below Park Slope South (left border is 4th Ave). The neighborhood is family oriented with newly arriving singles, very safe, close to the city, and cheaper than Park Slope prime!
The nearest train station to my apartments in South Slope is the R train at 25th Street and 4th Ave: 20 min or less to Manhattan! There are transfers to the F line at 9th St-4th Ave and to the 2, 3, 4, 5, D, Q, W at Pacific St and/or Dekalb Ave.
Laundry is a skip away on 5th Ave between 22nd and 23rd Streets. There is also a 24 hour laundry on 5th Ave and 20th St.
There are many grocery stores in the area: there is a 24 hr Pathmark at 12th St and 2nd Ave and gourmet Eagle Provisions and Met are within walking distance on 5th Ave.
There are lots of shops, banks, drug stores, electronics boutiques, internet cafes, and restaurants on 5th Ave including Radioshack, RiteAid, Eckerd, Domino's, etc.
Home Depot is at 19th St and 3rd Ave and other hardware stores are on 5th Ave. There is also a Lowes at 12th St and 2nd Ave near Pathmark.
The neighborhood has blossomed over the past 5 - 10 years and will continue to grow as more folks discover it.
