| Students will be able to explain the importance of voting. Students will be able to identify the ways that public officials are selected including election and appointment to office. Students will be able to identify and present the qualities of a leader in a campaign poster and/or commerical. Students will be able to present information clearly in a variety of oral and written forms. |

| Citizens of the United States must learn about the different candidates running for public office so they can vote for the one best suited for the job. Citizens vote for the men and women who make the laws in our county. |
