What it is:
This page was developed for school use by students and
parents. In this webpage there are
different links to health sites, physical education sites and athletics.
Also on my page is a link to the ct state department of education that
displays the
Connecticut
physical fitness standards. The
links provided can be use for students and parents.
As with any webpage I continue to add to this page, and will be adding
athletic events, and some links to events

This webpage displays my ability to construct a page that can
be used by the students and parents to retrieve information.
This page is easily navigated, and can be explored by many students.
How it benefits students at the PK-14 level:
The students can access the webpage and explore
different links to find information in the health and physical education area.
The students can access the standards that are required by the Ct state
department as far as fitness standards are concerned.

Equitable Access for All
What it is:
This is a paper that I wrote for
EDU-624, which explains that I would like to provide technology through dance
for all students. This paper talks
about the video game dance dance revolution and how I use it in physical
education class.
What it demonstrates:
This paper explains that I can incorporate technology into my
program and make activities such as dance fun and enjoyable for all students.
How does it benefit students at the PK-14 level:
This video game has been used for students in grades 3-8.
I could probably use it with many other students, because the students
have the ability to use video games. This
provides a dance program that would normally not be enjoyable for the students.
This provides opportunities of dance and technology.

Unit plan technology
What it is:
This is a unit plan that I developed for EDU-621, but turned
out to be very useful in my current teaching.
This unit plan incorporates lesson in technology in the health and
physical education classrooms.
What it demonstrates:
This plan demonstrates my integration of technology.
It also demonstrates the student’s integration of technology.
Both the students and the teacher in this unit plan will use technology
to enhance learning. This unit plan
was a very successful unit plan.
How it benefits students in the PK-14 level:
This unit plan was designed for grade five health and
physical education students. This
plan can be easily modified to be used with students of other grades and ages.

Brochure Internet Safety
What it is:
This was a brochure that I developed for and education class
in the program. I actually forwarded
this to our technology committee and they used this brochure as a template for a
brochure that they have developed. This
is used with my students as a guide of how to be safe on the internet.
What it demonstrates:
This demonstrates my ability to develop a brochure using
programs, and then passing this information along to my students.
How it benefits students at the PK-14 level:
This brochure can be used or given to any student who has
internet access. The students
ultimately make their decisions with parents, but this could be used as a guide
to help.

Capstone question 1
What it is:
This question in the capstone portfolio displays my learning theory and how it
is used in my teachings and classroom. It
also displays a theory that is along the lines of the constructivist pedagogy.
What it demonstrates;
This demonstrates that I have a strong emphasis on student
learning, and that student centered learning is what I teach.
The students are the most essential part of the learning process and by
developing a learning theory that supports that is critical.
How it benefits students at the PK-14 level:
I actually teach PK-8
and this theory benefits all of my students.
If I didn’t believe this to be true I would have to take a strong look
at my teaching philosophy.

This paper compares the educational system in the
U.S.

In this paper I believe that in terms of education the

is doing a fine job with the educational system.
What it demonstrates:
For this paper I had to
research how educational systems are run in this country as well as a few other
countries. The information that I
found was very helpful and enlightening. This
paper demonstrates my knowledge of the education system in this country as well
as other countries.
How it benefits students at the PK-14 level:
In my teaching it helps me better understand my students and
the academic challenges they face.

Step counter converter
What it is:
This is a link o a website that converts the amount of steps
taken to calories burned.
What it demonstrates:
This demonstrates that when I use pedometers with my students
they will then be able to convert the steps taken to calories burned.
They will also tie this in with nutrition and the amount of calories they
need each day the lead a healthy lifestyle.
How it benefits students at the PK-14 level:
This step converter can be used by students in grade 5-8.
The students at this age a responsible enough to be able to count their
steps correctly and the go to the website to convert their steps to calories
burned.

Journal Presentation
What it is:
This is a journal presentation I developed for students that
talks about physical fitness as a lifelong activity.
What it demonstrates:
This demonstrates that physical fitness and exercise are
lifelong activities. Team sports and activities are supplements to a physical
education program.
How it benefits students at the PK-14 level:
This presentation helps students understand that fitness
activities that can be used throughout their live are preferred over team
sports. In physical education the teaching of these activities will foster
learning and knowledge that can be used as adults.

Complete
capstone portfolio
What it is:
This is my completed capstone portfolio.
This is a project that displays my complete body of work in the
educational technology program at ECSU. This
portfolio is a compilation of my work, teaching philosophy, students work and
many other aspects of the school environment.
What it demonstrates:
This portfolio demonstrates my ability to organize my
graduate experience in one complete portfolio that will be submitted for a
requirement for my graduation.
How it benefits students at the PK-14 level:
This portfolio demonstrates my teaching practices that I
currently use to help my students grow and learn in health and physical
education.

Grade 8 slide show
What it is:
This is a four class project that t I designed for my grade
eight health education students. The
students research develop and present a slide show on a topic of their choice
that is health related.
What it demonstrates:
This demonstrates the integration of technology into the
classroom. The students have to
research a topic using the internet, collect that data and put together a
PowerPoint slide show. After t6he
completion of the side show they will present their project to the class and the
instructor.
How it benefits students at the PK-14 level:
I have been assigning this project my a few years now,
and it is generally very successful. The
students not only learn about their topic, but get information from their peers
on other topics.

Slide show plagiarism
What it is:
This is a slide show that I developed for EDU-624.
This slide show was and is still very useful to me and other staff
members.
What it demonstrates:
This slide show demonstrates what plagiarism is and how
students can produces papers, slide shows, and projects that will that will
avoid plagiarism. This slide show
also demonstrates how students can correctly cite work so that there is no
question when they are conducting research.
This slide show have been passed along to my of my co worker so that they
can use it with their students.
How it benefits students at the PK-14 level:
This is developed for middle school students and beyond.
There is a point in a student’s career when they need to know how to
collect and use research. This is a
basic guideline of how to achieve that.

Post test badminton
What it is:
This is a tool that I developed to assess my students in a
badminton unit.
What it demonstrates:
This toll is very useful to me because I can evaluate my
students on the computer so I don‘t have to travel with a bunch of papers.
I use a laptop and flash drive to score and store the data.
How it benefits students at the PK-14 level:
I generally use this assessment tools with my seventh and
eighth grade students, and it is a good tools to evaluate them in this unit.

What it is:
This is a tool that was developed by the ISTE to evaluate who

This is a very useful tool for me as an educator, because I
can use this to expand and evolve my comfort with technology.

What it is:
This is my professional growth plan for the school year
2009-2010. This was developed with
the intent to incorporate more technology in my programs.
What it demonstrate:
This demonstrates that I am willing to

incorporate it into the classroom.
How it benefits students at the PK-14 level:
This growth plan is intended to incorporate technology in
both physical education and health. This
will benefit my students in many ways, and also the use of technology will

Field day stations
What it is:
This is an excel document I developed for field day.
The teachers can download the document from the network.
What it demonstrates:
This demonstrates my ability to produce a spreadsheet
document and move away from the old way of pencil and paper and incorporate
technology.

This tool can be used by all the teachers in the school so
they can guide their classroom on field day.

Field day document
What it is:
This document is a complete design and informational brochure
that is used for field day every year. This
document explains the different field day stations rules, and procedures.
What it demonstrates:
This document demonstrates that I have used a computer
program do store and keep all of my information for field day.
For years I will create this document each year with a pencil and paper,
which was very time consuming and wasteful.
Now each year I can fine tune things and send this electronically in a
matte of minutes.
How it benefits students at the PK-14 level:
This document is very useful to the teachers on field day.
Everyone knows where they are supposed to be at any given time.
This is very helpful on a day that it very busy.

Technology Platform
What it is:
This was a technology platform that I developed for EDU-621.
It is a general description of how I have grown as a teacher in the field
of educational technology.
What it demonstrates:
This paper demonstrates that since I entered the educational
technology program I have grown as an educator.
Many thing that I used to do before have changed because of technology.
It also demonstrates that technology changes the way that I do my job
each day. I am constantly using new
technology in order to improve the learning experience of my students.
How it benefits students at the PK-14 Level:
My constant learning and use of new technology allows me to
pass that information along to my students in order to provide them with a
better learning experience.

What it is:
This is a paper that id completed for EDU-577.
This is a proposal for technology equipment over a period of five years.
What it demonstrates:
This proposal demonstrates the importance of technology in
the school system and how it will benefit all students.
How it benefits students at the PK-14 level:
This plan would benefit all students at Pomfret community
school, because it would require the purchase of new instructional equipment
that would enhance the learning experience of the students.

What it is:
This is a document that reflects upon the acceptable use
policy at
Pomfret
Community
School

What it demonstrates:
This document demonstrates that the requirement for
acceptable use in a school system are controlled by the board of education and
followed by the administration and staff. This
document displays what acceptable use is.
How it benefits students at the PK-14 level:
This document is an informational document that tells
educators what is acceptable to use your work computer, such as school business
and very little personal use. This
helps teachers understand the guidelines provided to them so they can pass along
information on acceptable use to their students.
