Gorean Slave Positions

**Note - Positions marked are ones found within the Norman scrolls, and are described as such. Quotes are marked with the book and page numbers.

Bara, or Belly Position**

This position is correctly designated by the name Bara, the Gorean word for "belly," although slaves are expected to respond to either command in the same fashion. In this position the slave falls to the stomach, face down to the floor and turned to the left, crosses the wrists behind the back, and similarly crosses the ankles, legs straight, in preparation for binding. Belly may also be positioned as the slave on the belly with chin on the Master or Mistresses feet. Learn to anticipate what your Master or Mistress wishes by his or her movements when asking for belly or bara. ( Bara is also found in Dancer of Gor pg 415. )

"Standard binding position", he said. I was prone. When a girl is prone, the standard binding position is to cross the wrists behind the back and to cross the ankles."

Bracelets, or Chaining Position**

In this position the slave stands gracefully before her Master, with her hips slightly turned to one side, her back and shoulders erect, her wrists crossed behind her back and her head turned to the left, in anticipation of having slave bracelets attached to her wrists.

"Bracelets," he snapped. She put her head in the air and placed her hands behind her back." --p.146, Hunters of Gor.

Collaring Position**

The word "Ko-lar" was used to help barbarians learn the Gorean language. It has the same sound, pronounciation and meaning as the word "collar." This position is also called "the Position of Female Submission." In this position the slave kneels at the Master's feet and leans her body back, sitting upon her heels, with her arms extended upward, crossed at the wrists, and her head beneath them lowered in supplication.

"Then, to my astonishment, the daughter of the Ubar Marlenus, daughter of the Ubar of Ar, knelt before me, a simple warrior of Ko-ro-ba, and lowered her head, lifting and extending her arms, wrists crossed. It was... the submission of the captive female. Without raising her eyes from the ground, the daughter of the Ubar said in a clear, distinct voice: `I submit myself.' ...I was speechless for a moment, but then, remembering that harsh Gorean custom required me either to accept the submission or slay the captive, I took her wrists in my hands and said, `I accept your submission.'" --Tarnsman of Gor p.93-94

Common Gorean Usage Position

The slave falls to the floor upon all fours, and keeps the head straight, the eyes looking forward, with the buttocks thrust upward and the thighs widely spread in preparation for the sexual use of the Master.

Display**

Rise to your feet, you move feet just past shoulder width apart, place hands behind head, fingers laced together, head up, eyes lowered.

"The auctioneer did not strike her with his whip. He merely took her arms and lifted them, so that the position chain, attached to each side of the sales collar, lay across her upper arms. Then he had her clasp her hands behind the back of her neck, so that the chain, on each side of the collar, was in the crook of her arms, and she was exposed in such a way that she could be properly exhibited." --Explorers of Gor p.36.( also shown in Dancer of Gor pg 131 )

First Obeisance Position**

In this common position of Gorean slave obeisance, the slave kneels and sits upon the heels with the back and shoulders straight, the chest out, belly in, and the head up, though he/she averts the eyes to the floor. The thighs are open, widely spread.

**Note: there is no true name put to this action found in the Books of Gor other than the words "form of obeisance". However, a description of this form of submission is found in Mercenaries of Gor - book # 21 pg 409, shown below:

"There are many ways to perform obeisance,"I said.

"Now that," I said, " may not be exactly a form of obeisance, for authorities do not all agree, but for our purposes we shall count it as one. It is, at any rate, a beautiful position, and it is, certainly, a common position of slave submission."

Gorean Bow

In this position, the slave kneels in the nadu position, bending the body backwards till the head touches the floor, placing the hands by the head, palms flat and pulls up to a backbend. This position is very difficult to maintain for longer than 5 minutes.

Hair Position**

In this position the slave stands, feet flat on the floor, and bows gracefully at the waist, that the hair might fall forward for display, or to be shorn, seized, or leading or used for any purpose that the Master or Mistress desires.

Kneeling/Low Bracelet

The slave kneels, thighs spread wide, back arched and arms extended forward with the wrists pressed together and head held high with the eyes lowered in submission.

Kneeling/Low Leasha

The slave kneels quickly spreading the thighs wide and arches the back stiffly and places the hands, wrists crossed at the small of the back. The head is turned to the left with eyes lowered submissively, the lips parted. In this position the slave is awaiting the leash to be led away on their knees.

Leading Position**

The slave stands and moves behind her Master, bending at the waist. She places her hands behind her and puts the side of her head to her Master's hip, that he might lead her easily by the hair or collar while walking. ** Note: Alone, go to left. With First Girl, go to right. More than 2 girls, follow on right.

"I then transfered the paga to my left hand. I then snapped my fingers and held my right hand, open, at my hip. Swiftly the girl rose to her feet and, half crouching, put her head by my hand. I fastened the fingers of my hand deeply and firmly in her red hair. She winced, and kissed at my thigh. I then, the goblet of paga in my left hand, her hair in my right, dragged her beside me, her slender chains rustling, to the nearest alcove." book15 pg 59 ( ** Note: this position is described in Kajira of Gor pg 134 and Players of Gor pg 181 as well and a hair leash is described in Dancer of Gor pg 112. )

Leasha, or Binding Position**

From the Gorean word "Leasha," which translates as "leash." In this position, the slave remains either standing or kneeling, depending upon the current position she is in. She turns and puts her back to her Master, her chin up, her head turned to the left so a leash may be attached to her collar, with her back and shoulders straight. Her wrists are extended behind her, side by side, in a position to be locked into chained slave bracelets, or be to bound with binding fiber.

"Lesha," snapped the second officer to the blond girl. She spun from facing him, and lifted her chain, turning her head to the left, placing her wrists behind her, as though for snapping them into slave bracelets. --Explorers of Gor p.77.

Nadu, or Pleasure Slave Position**

The first and most often used of all of the Gorean slave positions, and one of the first ones a slave learns. The command gets its name, Nadu, from the Gorean word for "kneel." In this position the slave kneels and sits back upon his/her heels ( Do Not cross your ankles. ) with the back and shoulders straight, the chest out, belly in, and the head up, though he/she averts the eyes in respect they do not go to the floor. His/Her thighs are open, widely spread, his/her hands rest upon the thighs palms down. ( palms are facing down on the thighs as shown in Explorers of Gor, pg 77 and 81... Mercanaries of Gor pgs 163 and 409... Savages of Gor pg 155. ) While this is the most common position for a red silks, when serving IN FRONT OF a Mistress, Tower should be used. However, it is to be remembered that Males pleasure on Gor comes before a females, and just because a female is present in a room does not mean you do not nadu before your Master unless told to tower. If kneeling before the Mistress then Tower, otherwise you are in nadu before your Master, even if a freewoman is present in the room.

"Then to the dark haired girl, he said, sharply, 'Nadu!' "She struggled to her knees and, as she could, her wrists braceleted behind her, assumed before him the lovely, elegant postion of the pleasure slave."--Explorers of Gor pg.166.

"`Nadu!' he snapped. She swiftly turned, facing him, and dropped to her knees. She knelt back on her heels, her back straight, her hands on her thighs, her head up, her knees wide. It was the position of the pleasure slave." --Explorers of Gor p.77.

**Her hands rest upon her thighs, palms face down. If she if attempting to placate her Master, only then are her palms facing upward. ( Here they bring up the fact that palms up is a motion of placation the norm is palms down Explorers of Gor pg 81 and Preist Kings of Gor pg 234 directly support this statement. **Another tidbit is that a slave from the City of Thentis will kneel in the traditional nadu except that her wrists will be crossed behind her back instead of on her thighs Priest Kings of Gor pg 46. )

Obedience Position or Third Obeisance Position**

In this position of Gorean slave obeisance, the slave lowers herself onto her belly on the floor. She then inches forward, remaining low on her belly, and upon reaching the Master's feet, she licks and kisses them. She then takes the Master's foot and places it gently upon her head. Once again she lowers his foot back to the floor, and kiss it again. She then may inch backwards a bit, still on her belly, humbly.

**Note: This command is not to be confused with "Bara" or "Belly" Position. It is a form of "bellying," which is done to show a girl's complete submissiveness to her Master, knowing he has total control over her, that she is totally owned. This is used for begging forgivness. may also be used for showing love and submission to your Owner. Mercenaries of Gor - Book # 21 pgs 410,411 shown below:

"Now" I said, "for a third form of obeisance. You may belly to me."

"I do not understand," she whispered.

"There are various forms of bellying, " I said, and bellying may be suitably and pleasingly combined with other forms of floor movements, approaching the Master on all fours, turning to your sides and back, writhing before him, and so on. We will take a very simple variation, suitable for an ignorant free female who has not yet even begun to discover the depths of her sexuality."

She looked up at me.

"On your belly," I said. She backed off a bit , and went to her belly. Her hair was before her face, as she now on her belly before me looked up at me.

"Now inch forward," I said, " remaining low on your belly, and when you reach my feet, once again, as before, lifting your head a little, tenderly and humbly, and beautifully, as though you were a slave, lick and kiss them. Good. Good. Now take my foot and place it gently on your head. Very good. Now place it again on the Mat, and kiss it again. Good. You may now belly back a little, humbly. I have not yet given you permission to rise of course."

Second Obeisance Position**

In this position the slave girl leans her body forward from a nadu position, her hair falling forward as she places her forehead onto the floor, her palms resting on the ground with outstretched hands on both sides of her head. She then slowly raises her head, on her Master's command, inches from the floor, shifting forward so her face is hovering over her Master's feet, she then begins to lick and kiss his feet as ordered.

**Note: This is NOT called "Karta," ( It has been mentioned that there is a reference to Karta in Guardsman of Gor but I have not found it as of yet ) there is NO such command found in any of the Gor books. Therefore, Karta is not a true position of Gor, and should be identified as a "non" Gorean slave position. A prime example from one of the books - Mercenaries of Gor - book # 21 pg 410, shown below:

"Now" I said, " and this is clearly a form of obeisance, bend forward and put your head to the mat, the palms of your hands on the mat. Good. Now lift your head little and come forward, substantially keeping the position. Forward a little more."

" But then my face will be at your feet," she said," My lips will be over them!"

"Yes," I said, "Good, now, put your head down and lick and kiss my feet."

"I am a free Woman!" She Said.

"You are a woman," I said," now softly lingeringly, and lovingly, Good."

"I am not a slave," she said.

"All women are slaves," I said " Imagine what this would be like if you were truly a collared slave." She gasped.

She-Sleen Position**

Also known as "assuming the modality of the she-quadruped." In this position, the slave falls to her hands and knees, her head down on the floor, her forearms resting flush to the ground, thighs spread wide, with her hindquarters upthrust for the viewing of her heat and/or her Master's pleasure. "Serving in the modality of the she-quadruped" is an instruction whereby the slave performs her regular duties upon hands and knees, without the benefit of the use of her hands. In this mode she may not rise to her feet and may use only her mouth and teeth to grasp and manipulate objects. ( The she-sleen and she-quadraped are also shown as being interchangable as can be seen from looking at Tribesman of Gor 199 and Mercenaries of Gor pg 328... the girl having to fetch and serve from a postion on hands and knees. )

Slaver's Kiss

The slave falls to the floor upon all fours, lowering the head to the ground, buttocks thrust upward and thighs widespread, fully exposing the bottom in preparation for the caress of leather against the body.

Slave Lips**

When this command is given, the slave turns her head up to the Master, her lips pursed in a sensual kissing position. She remains motionless, her lips thusly puckered, and may not move until she is granted the kiss of a Master.

Sula or Prone Position**

In this position, a slave lays upon the back, the hands at his/her sides, palms upward, the legs widely spread, to await bondage, use or control by the Master or Mistress. ** Note: this is a display position, may also be a sexual use position.

'Sula, Kajira!' said the man. She slid her legs from under her and lay on her back, her hands at her sides, palms up, legs open. --Explorers of Gor p.77.

Sula-Ki

** Note: There is NO such command of "Sula-ki" found in any of the Gor Books. The slave lays back upon the floor, hands at the sides and palms up and open, legs widely spread apart to await bondage, use or control. The hips are lifted of the floor slowly for the Master or Mistresses pleasure.

Table

The slave moves to all fours, locking the elbows and makes the back smooth and level, holding the head level to be used as a table or footstool.

Tower Slave Position**

This is another variation of Nadu in which the slave kneels the same way, but with the knees modestly together. This variation is referred to as Tower Slave Position and is typically reserved for underage or white-silk slave girls or boys, or slave girls or boys who serve their Master in a non-sexual way, such as a Tower Slave or female or male Work Slave. White silk kajirae use this position at all times save for their own Master.

"The position of the Tower Slave, in which Vika knelt, differs from that of a free woman only in the position of the wrists which are held before her and, when not occupied, crossed as though for binding... The position of the Pleasure Slave, incidentally, differs from the position of both the free woman and the Tower Slave. The hands of a Pleasure Slave normally rest on her thighs but, in some cities, for example, Thentis, I believe, they are crossed behind her. More significantly, for the free woman's hands may also rest on her thighs, there is a difference in the placement of the knees. In all these kneeling positions, incidentally, even that of the Pleasure Slave, the Gorean woman carries herself well; her back is straight and her chin is high. She tends to be vital and beautiful to look upon." --Priest Kings of Gor p.46-47.

**The crossing of the wrists is only done if you are a Tower slave and do NOT serve sexually. if you are training as a Pleasure Slave and are white silk - palms down.

**Tower Slave Position - There is another variation of Nadu in which the slave kneels the same way, but with her knees modestly together. This variation is referred to as Tower Slave Position and is typically reserved for underage or white-silk slavegirls, or slavegirls who serve their Master in a non-sexual way, such as a Tower Slave or female Work Slave.

**Note: The Tower is also used by all slaves when in the presence of Free Women, A hot blooded slave in the process of pleasing her master must frustratingly adopt this posture inconveniently when the Free Woman shows up.

Whipping Position**

In this position the slave in on her knees in the Nadu position, her hands are in front of her, crossing them at the wrists in front of her breasts. She then becomes hunched over, her head turned to the left touching the floor, she tosses her hair over one side of her shoulders so that her back might be utterly exposed to the whip and to also keep the fine blades of the gorean slave whip from cutting off a girl's long hair.

**Note: After this position is used, the slave drops to the ground and kisses her Master's feet, thanking him for spending his precious time on such a slave.

"I went to Targo, trembling, and knelt at his feet... I crossed my wrists beneath me and touched my head to the floor, exposing the bow of my back. It is the submissive posture of a slave girl who is to be punished. It is called Kneeling to the Whip." --Captive of Gorp.200.

Break

When this command is given, it means the slave is allowed to break position for the purposes of relaxing from a kneel, perhaps to enjoy a bit of banter with his/her sisters and/or brothers while the Master or Mistress is busy with other things.

Crawl

At this command, the slave moves to all fours, palms to elbows flat upon the floor, bottom raised high in the air and forehead not quite touching the floor. The slave then crawls to just an inch before the Master or Mistresses feet.

Har-ta

Fast, do it now! Often an indicator that a short serve only is wanted. However this is not an excuse to be sloppy. It is possible to still be pleasing and do it fast.

Heel

She goes to Master and kneels behind his left foot, awaiting his movement whereupon she stays to his left and slightly behind him following him as he moves usually in an open area about 10ft behind him and to the left, in crowded areas the girl may heel one step behind him on his left. However, a girl who is not in favor of her Master will be commanded to kneel and Heel upon her Master's right side.

Run**

When this command is given, the slave runs toward his/her objective, taking short rapid steps, with his/her legs almost straight, the feet hardly leaving the floor. As he/she moves the back is straight, the head is turned to the left, and the arms are at his/her sides, his/her palms facing outward at a 45 degree angle to the body. Upon reaching the objective he/she drops gracefully to his/her knees and typically resumes the position of Nadu.

Stand**

When this command is given, a slave stands, left hip out and toes of left foot pointed. The belly is held in and head up with eyes down, arms to the side and palms facing frontwards.

Walk**

When this command is given, the slave turns in a graceful pirouette, her hair swinging. She then walks, gliding across the room, her feet hardly seeming to leave the floor, her hips swaying sensually, her body erect and proud. When she reaches her objective she halts and stands, her body erect, her shoulders back, her chest thrust forward, her belly in. She turns her hip out a bit, her hands at her sides, and points one foot. Her head is up and her eyes are lowered.

Veck**

(See stand - This is another word for the command stand... Slave Girl of Gor)

Masters Kiss**

The Master or Mistress takes the hair of the slave in his/her hand and yanks back the head hard as he/she pulls back on the hair of the slave, exposing the neck and face to him/her. The Master or Mistress attacks the slaves lips with his/her own, kissing the slave passionately and powerfully, taking her top lip in his/her teeth and biting down on it, then taking the bottom lip and sucking on it, biting down on it as well as he/she continues to kiss the slave. The Master or Mistress then kisses the slaves exposed neck and drags the tongue across the slaves neck.

Whip Caress or Slavers Caress**

This slavers caress is a method of touching without warning of a kajira who is being sold or rented, or otherwise, in order to exhibit her slave heat for potential buyers or interested parties. It is commonly done by using the butt of a coiled whip stroked against the girls heat from behind while the girl is in display position. This is done to see and test her reaction to stimuli to prove her eagerness to please.
