This Mass Challenge meeting was held at on June X, 1998 at Max's Allegheny Tavern. At the 1997 Rascals Ball, darts were tossed at an over-sized map of Pittsburgh and vicinity, each Rascal getting in this manner a unique site about which he was to bring back an interesting story. The winner of the J. Z. Landgraf Prize was David McFadden for his tale about pub crawling on the South Side. The McGeoy Bitter Cup went to runner-up Charles George.
