I am 20 1/2 years old!!!!
Here's a collection of funny stories about me, centered around the fact that I look a lot younger than I actually am. People erroneously think that I should be complimented by people mistaking my age. Ha. I'm 20, and a Senior in college. I tend to act my age, and would like to be treated as such. People have been saying that I look young since forever - my earliest memory of such comes from about fourth grade, I think. But here are some more recent stories of people mistaking my age:
April 2003: Newly engaged, Age 19, I visited a new ward over Easter with my former fiance and his mother. We ran into the first counselor of the ward who directed us to where the meetings were to be held after sacrament meeting. He kindly directed me to where the girls under 17 met (Young Women's), even though I'm in releif society.
Later that same month, while flying home the airport people didn't ask to see my ID because they thought I was under 16.
January 2004: My friends comment to me that I look about 15 in my engagement picture to aforementioned fiance, so it looks like this 30-year-old is robbing the cradle. They also express their joy that I didn't marry him.
April 2004: Shopping at Walmart with my sister, who is 6 1/2 years younger than I am, a cashier asks us if we are identical twins.
May 2004: A young women's leader asks my sister if she's going to a church Girl's camp (again, age 17 and younger) this summer. Then she turns to me and asks whether I'll be going too. I say "No, because I'm 20." She is very surprised.
Just last week (23 May 2004) I relate this story to one of my sister's friends. She too is shocked - she thought I was 17 and graduated from high school early to get a head start in college.
So those are my stories. You might want to check back on this page every so often to see if there are more, because I promise I'll put them up here when more happen.
