"Lord
of the Rings" Japanese DVD Release
The
AV Watch web page (in Japanese) has some details on the
Japanese release of 'The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The
Ring' DVD editions in Japan...
It will be released in Japan in two different DVD edition. The
standard edition which includes 2 DVDs (movie + extras) will be
released on October 2, 2002. The extended edition which
includes 4 DVDs (2 movie + 2 extras) will be released on December
4, 2002. The extras will include Enya's "May It Be" video.

"May
It Be" Video Will Be Released On DVD
Enya's "May It Be" video will be released on DVD as part
of the "Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring" DVD to
be released later this year... It will appear on Disc 2 of the two-disc DVD as part of the
extras.

Enya Nominated For Hot Press Irish Music Awards
The nominations for the
2002 Hot Press Irish Music Awards have been announced, and
Enya is one of the musicians nominated in the category of
Roots (?) for the 2002 Hot Press Irish Music Awards...
The awards ceremony takes place on April 25 in Belfast,
and then be broadcast by BBC Northern Ireland (television) will show
highlights from the event on the night of April 26.

Enya to make debut Oscar performance (oscars.org)
Beverly Hills, CA - Singer-songwriter Enya will perform
for the first time at the 74th Academy Awards, producer Laura
Ziskin announced today.
Enya will sing May It Be from The Lord of the Rings:
The Fellowship of the Ring, which is nominated for Best
Original Song.
Enya, whose total album sales to date have reached 60
million, has become an international success. Her latest album, A
Day Without Rain, has sold more than 6 million copies in the
United States and won a Grammy Award in 2002.
Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2001 will be
presented on Sunday, March 24, at the Kodak Theatre at
Hollywood & Highland� and televised live by the ABC Television
Network beginning at 5:30 p.m. PST. A half-hour arrival segment
will precede the presentation ceremony at 5 p.m. Information about

Enya to perform at the 14th Annual World Music
Awards
Enya is scheduled as one of tonight's (March 6) performers at the
2002 World Music Awards at the Monte-Carlo Sporting Club, according to their
web site
. The 2002 WMA will air on ITV in the U.K. sometime in the future,
Network 2 in Ireland on March 17, and on ABC TV in the U.S. sometime
in the future. The show, which honours the best selling recording
artists from around the world, is broadcast in more than 160
countries. The World Music Awards are presented on behalf of
Prince Albert of Monaco, the event's patron. |

Enya Scoops Grammy Award
WARNER MUSIC (Friday, March 1, 2002):
Enya won a Grammy award for her album A Day Without Rain
at last nights Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. "I'm
absolutely delighted to win this award after having such a wonderful
year" said Enya.
After 66 weeks on the charts in the US, and
peaking at # 2, A Day Without Rain remains strong in the Top 20 of the
Billboard 200. Meanwhile, Enya, the world's biggest selling artist
in 2001, is also currently enjoying chart success in Canada, Germany,
Italy, Japan, Holland, Switzerland and Sweden. Global sales
of A Day Without Rain are at 12 million and Enya�s total
album sales to date have now reached 60 million.

Oscar Nomination for "May It Be"
WARNER MUSIC (Friday, March 1, 2002):
Enya and her musical partners Roma and Nicky Ryan
have been nominated for an Oscar for Best Music (Song) for
May It Be recorded for The Lord Of The Rings - The Fellowship
Of The Ring. Enya and Roma Ryan were asked by director Peter
Jackson to write two songs for 'The Fellowship Of The Rings', 'Aniron
(Theme from Aragorn and Arwen)' and 'May It Be'.
'The Fellowship Of The Ring' is the first in a trilogy of films
based on JRR Tolkien�s Lord Of The Rings and has been
nominated in a total of thirteen categories including Best Picture.
The Academy Awards ceremony will be held at the Kodak Theatre at
Hollywood and Highland on March 24th.
BEVERLY HILLS (Reuters) - Epic fantasy "The Lord of the
Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" has earned 13 Oscar
nominations - including one for Enya - making it the clear

Epic fantasy "Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring"
won two prizes for its music. Howard Shore was named best
composer and singer Enya shared best-song honors
with former Beatle Paul McCartney for the theme to "Vanilla Sky."
...The American Film Institute named ''Lord of the Rings'' as
its favorite film of the year.

nominated in the Best New Age Album

... Enya's 'A Day Without Rain' became a sensation after the
Sept. 11 attacks, fueled by the success of her soothing ode 'Only
Time', but was only nominated for best new age album. The
album sold more copies than Alicia Keys' disc, 4.4 million.
Rick Krim (a vice president at VH1) said she may not have received more nominations because "Enya
is kind of an enigma to people. ... There's not a personality
attached to it, like some of these other artists."
The 44th annual
Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for Feb. 27 in Los
Angeles. -
