Introduction to Over Population and Carrying Capacity

The world wide community has been introduced to a new problem which is rising exponentially. Throughout the rise of man kind there have always been contributing factors which have controlled our population naturally. But as we creep into the modern times our population is rising out of control with more births occurring than deaths.
Every time your heartbeats, 2.3 more babies are added to the world's population. At this rate, we share the earth and its resources about 216,000 more people each day (95% of them in developing countries).
This graph displays the exponential change in the world's population over time. It is clearly seen that the rapid population change is exponentially rising much faster than it ever has in previous history.
It is also clear that the majority of the population problems are occurring in developing nations where social and cultural situations mean big families. Unfortunately, these countries are unable to provide for the population explosions, leaving people in poverty. Institutions such as education and equality within these Third world nations could create serious changes in the world population, and the overall betterment of quality of life.
This graph displays the distribution of the rising population rates, note that the fastest growing rates occur in developing countries.
So the question becomes how far we can take this population on the available resources. This notion is referred to a Carrying Capacity, known as the symbol K, and represents the amount of people that can be sustained with what is available. It has become clear that though it appears that the growth rate of our population is slowing it is still clear that the planet cannot support the population the human race intends to put on it.
This website has been created for the education of the public so that it is more apparent that population control is a real problem, and that it is crucial to quality of life for all of the population to keep it under control. The problem can be solved with variety of ways, please explore the site for the betterment of man kind.
