USS
Enterprise NCC 1701-E
Sovereign
Class Starship
Service
record from 2380 onwards
After
Jean Luc Picard was promoted to the rank of Admiral and assigned
to work with Admiral Janeway at Starfleet Command, for several
years the Enterprise-E was under the command of Captain Wesley
Crusher. The Enterprise continued to be the flagship of the fleet
and was decommissioned in 2384.
During
its four years of service under the command of Captain Crusher
the Enterprise made contact with twelve new races, who eight of
them joined the Federation with Captain Crusher signing the many
membership treaties.
Captain
Crusher and the Enterprise was present when the Alpha and Gamma
Accords were signed, with the Enterprise being the flagship of
the mission with the President of the Federation on board her
in early 2380.
In
2381 the Enterprise encountered a large Hirogen hunting armada,
which had been travelling through the Delta/Beta Quadrant for
several years.
The Enterprise had found out that the Hirogen had packed together
to find the crew of Voyager and take revenge against them, reasons
why were never found out. The Enterprise engaged several Hirogen
vessels but was forced to retreat due to the Flagship taken heavy
damage.
The Enterprise retreated back to Federation space where it was
met up by a large Federation fleet led by Fleet Admiral Janeway
on board her flagship, USS Voyager. The Admiral had brought back
her old crew with Captain Harry Kim in command of the USS Rhode
Island, a new and improved Nova class vessel, well as Commodore
Tom Paris who commanded the Intimidator class vessel USS Archer.
Admiral Picard had also took command of the Akira class vessel
USS Marco Polo which was part of the fleet.
The entire Federation fleet engaged the Hirogen fleet and both
sides put up a good fight. But the Federation forces were victorious
in their battle. During the fight the Marco Polo had been damaged
and its crew was forced to abandon it with its crew being beamed
on board the Enterprise. Only one Federation vessel was lost,
the Defiant class vessel USS Provocation. The crew of the Provocation
was not lost and was beamed off before its warp core breached.
No Hirogen vessel even crossed in to claimed Federation territory,
it was a victory that made Starfleet proud but with a cost. The
Enterprise was damaged and was towed back to San Francisco shipyards
by the USS Archer. There was no way that the Enterprise could
be repaired without using heavy amounts of resources from the
San Francisco and Utopia Plantia shipyards. Both Admirals Janeway
and Picard fought hard for the Enterprise to be repaired but Starfleet
said no.
Captain Crusher and the crew of the Enterprise were decorated
and even given promotions. Crusher had been reassigned to take
command of the USS Neptune, a Galaxy Refit class vessel.
The Enterprise was placed in to shipyard alpha one at San Francisco
shipyards to rest until a decision would be made to decide what
to do with Sovereign class vessel later on.
When
the Borg began their invasion of the Alpha/Beta Quadrant the work
to repair the Enterprise began. Work was slow due to Utopia Plantia
being in high demand to build and launch a number of warship type
vessels. But by the year 2385 the Klingon Empire requested to
join the Federation, the Enterprise was more then ready to head
to the aid of the Klingons. Command was of the Enterprise was
handed over to Ambassador and the newly promoted Captain Wolf,
with Admiral Picard on board as an advisor.
Before the Enterprise left Earth, it was outfitted with the state
of the art technology. Recent improvements to Transphasic torpedoes
meant the Enterprise could do some damage, it was outfitted with
100 Transphasic torpedoes, 200 hellfire torpedoes, 400 quantum
torpedoes and 350 photon torpedoes plus twenty tri-cobalt devices.
Its phaser’s were upgraded to type fifteen phasers. The
new improved Multi-layered-shielding-system was placed on the
Enterprise, well as a fifteen centimetre thickness of type one
ablative armour covered over the hull. Type Two-B Ablative Armour
generators were installed for extra defence. The Enterprise also
carried a full complement of marines, and the most up to date
security systems. It was outfitted for war and to operate without
servicing for at least four years.
When Captain Wolf with Admiral Picard arrived at Qo’nos,
Chancellor Martok immediately outfitted the Enterprise with a
new improved cloaking device, designed by Klingon scientists for
Federation starships.
The Enterprise only saw action twice against the Borg during its
defence for the Klingon Homeworld. The first time was when the
Borg made their first attempt to destroy Qo’nos. The Borg
had planned to take out Qo’nos knowing that if they did
Federation forces would not be able to gain valuable resources
from the Klingon Homeworld. The combined Federation and Klingon
fleet in orbit of Qo’nos took out the first wave of Borg
vessels. Only six allied vessels were lost during this engagement.
When Fleet Admiral Janeway recalled Admiral Picard to Earth, the
Enterprise rendezvoused with the Pegasus-B and transferred the
Admiral back to Earth.
Contact
was soon lost with the Enterprise well as the Klingon homeworld
when Fleet Admiral Bremer found out that the Borg had took the
offensive against the Klingons for the last time. Fleet Admiral
Bremer attempted to make it back to the Klingon Homeworld but
was forced to retreat after his small task group was attacked.
Nothing
has been heard from the Enterprise-E ever since that day. The
last report from the Enterprise indicated that it was engaging
several Borg vessels and using a combination of the Picard and
Riker manoeuvres to defend themselves…no one has found out
if the plan had worked since that last message.
