It was time again for battle, and Strife had overslept again. All the other soldiers always called him a wayward dragon, and that he was always acting like a big buffoon, but today would be his chance to prove them wrong. As he scurried to the barracks, he reviewed the current military situation. The wyverns were in a war with the hydras and the colossus. Nobody knew when or even why the war started, but they continued to fight nonetheless. At the mission briefing, Strife learned that his team was going to attempt a sneak attack on the colossus materia crystal mines to steal some of the crystals, and to destroy a highly flammable tank full of materia energy located in the colossus capital city. While this type of strategy wouldn't be very orthodox for the other two races, it was the perfect plan for the wyverns, because they were all about speed and stealth. If the wyverns could procure some of the crystals, then they could use them in their new energy weapons. As for the energy tank, the resulting explosion would destroy a considerable chunk of the city.
While many of the wyvern soldiers were spirited and ready for the raid, Strife was anything but peppy. He could deal with fighting enemy soldiers, but now they were going to kill thousands of innocent dragons, who's only mistake was to live near the attack site. Strife knew he could do nothing to stop the war, but would the three races keep killing until the entire world was just an empty void?
In a moment of impulse, strife made up his mind to do something. He had heard of an underground vigilante group known as Avalanche that consisted of dragons from all three races trying to stop the war, so maybe he could join them. While his controversial choice would bewilder and mortify most dragons, as it meant turning on your own country, Strife's mind was set. However, before he could help the group, he would have to do something the police couldn't even accomplish- to find Avalanche.
