| On the river bank,
downstream from the troll bridge, you encounter a farmer. He is standing
next to a boat. There are two chickens and a fox at his side as well.
"Could you help me cross the river with your boat?" you ask. "Well, I could," says the farmer. "But first I have a quandary to solve." "That's how it's been today," you say. "I have to carry this fox and two chickens across on the boat. Now, I can only carry one at a time. If I leave the fox alone with one of the chickens, however, it will eat them." |
