38 Cost To Build The whole car cost something like $30,000 Cdn to build, but that's taking into account **everything** I used to build her, including cans of paint stripper, sand paper, and other frivolous things that really do add up over the course of a three-year project.
39 Purpose Does picking up honeys count? Otherwise, she is still my daily driver 360+ days a year (ie: minus those few days when there's more than an inch or so of snow on the streets).
40 Comments I could sum up this car using one word: scary. scary being that it was one of the first turbocharged, fuel injected ACVWs out there and with me living way up here in Canada, help from those with actual hands-on experience was very far away. The CB Performance EFI kit proved to be nothing more than a toy, really, and the jump into *real* aftermarket programmable EFI
computers was another big jump (with less than a half dozen other Wolf 3D users in town to share notes with -- none of whom owned an EFI ACVW). Then there was the scary amount of noise Sharkey made when I first broke in the engine (scary because Pat at CB Performance said that they no longer sell their turbo kits with mufflers because they don't think that they need them -- apparently 105 dB is perfectly OK in central California). Then there's the scary amount of horsepower and torque -- and the computer maps aren't even fine-tuned yet!
