40 Comments I originally wanted to use a line bored dual relief case but there were some issues with it so I used a new case and had it built to my specs. I was a pain in the rear to the crank builder because I was so picky about getting the rod journals indexed correctly. I used a 32/36 progressive carb but no matter how I rejetted it, it was squishy on the bottom end. I knew that Ford Pinto's and Chevy Vega's used these carbs and there were two
in use, the 28/36 for stick and the 32/36 for automatic. I found a good 28/32 in a wrecking yard and rebuilt it with 137/50 jets on the 28 side and 145/60 on the 36 side. No flat spots from top to bottom. Since my Single Cab has reduction boxes I wanted my distributor curve to come in slower and continue past the .009 sooner so I opted for the .050 with dual points. Also, I found that the cheaper Bosch blue coil from Mexico is not a real Bosch and the voltage is lower, so I got a Brazillian one at a higher price but 15000 more volts.
