Chapter 1: Approaching Edy
It was 7.30am, Aijia stepped into the classroom of 2-7 and walked towards her seat. After putting down her bag, she looked out of the window on her right. She heaved a sigh. Even though it was a sunny day, but she couldn't help feeling a little depressed, Another half an hour before lesson started, she thought she'd pass time by scribbling some drawings.
Aijia: *narrating* I'm Gao Aijia (高爱佳), I'm a 高二 student of Zhong Dian Gao Xiao (忠殿高校). I had been in Zhong Gao for about a year and a half now. It's a lovely school, beautiful buildings, friendly students, approachable teachers, and....
At this point of time, Edy entered the classroom which caused some commotion with the girls in class. Edy walked towards his desk which was diagonally a few rows in front of where Aijia was seating. She couldn't help but felt her heart skip a beat when she saw him entering the classroom.
Aijia: *continue narrating* and...我有个秘密要告诉你哦~ 我从高一开始就暗恋着一个很特别的男生. We're studying in the same class. He's a really honest & quiet guy. He's rather soft-spoken too. Sometimes during lectures, I'd be glancing at him. He would either be listening attentively to what the teachers are saying or be really engrossed in his work. He sings very well and his dancing is superb! With his intelligence as well as his talents, it's no wonder he has so many admirers. He's none other than...
"Xiao Jinghong, can you teach me how to dance? I would really love to learn from you!" A fellow female classmate, Jane, sat in front of Edy, persuading him to take her as his disciple.
Edy, being friendly & approachable as he was, went on about some dancing techniques, "Er, really? Actually, the most important thing about dancing is being able to let go of yourself. You must be....er...." There was a pause as he was trying to think of an appropriate word. "Focus! And being able to express yourself in your dancing."
Jane continued to bug him, "How about you teach me the basics first then slowly teach me how to do a proper dance?" She pouted, "Please? I'm really sincere...."
Aijia: Ha! He's really popular with girls, isn't he? Initially, when I was starting to develop crush on him, his contacts with girls sorta disturbed me. But later, I got used to it because he's not the sort who's easily 动摇. Though girls go up to him but he didn't take the opportunity to flirt with them. His only negative trait would probably be....hmm....not being expressive with words. He always considers people's feelings first before himself.
Slowly, more students came into the classroom and prepared for the first period.
Aijia: We've been classmates for a year now but we seldom talked in class. I guess, only like, once a month? Or maybe even less. He's pretty low profile in class, or at least he tried to be that's why he seldom talks in class. Oh well?
It was History period. The grumpy Miss Chung walked in. After being greeted by students, she began, "Class, you've a new project. Please form groups of 4 and discuss about what you learnt about the revolution which Chiang Kai Shek led from the previous chapters. Please refer to the instructions given and hand in your project 2 weeks later. Any questions? If no questions, please get into your group now and discuss. Give me the topic before this class ends.
Lots of girls rushed up to Edy, hoping to join his group. Aijia witnessed the whole scenario. She was crest-fallen...
Aijia: Sigh... I don't think I'd get the chance to ask him after all.
"你在想什么啊,丫头? If you want to form a group with him, go ahead then! What's stopping you?" A voice broke Aijia's thoughts. She turned around and saw Kailin who was Aijia's classmates since primary one, they were as close as sisters. "Come on, what's there to loose? Go on!"
Aijia was hesistant. But she realized that it was do or die, 要闻就问不然就没机会了. "Hmm...I think you're right. If I don't ask now, I might not have the chance anymore." She plucked up all the courage and walked towards Edy's desk. She thought she could retain her cool but as she reached his desk, her tone became timid. "萧同学, you happen to have a group now? If not, I'd like to ask you to form a group with me, is that alright?"
Another fellow female classmate, Dawn, said, "Wei! Edy has joined our group already, right Edy?"
Aijia was stunned for a while then replied, "If that's the case. The never mind." She walked away quickly & quietly with Kailin.
Edy shot a look to his best pal in class, Zhiwei. Zhiwei immediately knew what Edy was thinking and apologized to Dawn, "Er sorry, think we'd join Aijia & Kailin." Without giving Dawn the chance to retort, Zhiwei quickly approached Aijia, "Hey, wait up! Er..If you don't mind, Edy & I would like to join you girls as a group. Is it ok?"
Zhiwei quickly approached Aijia, "Hey, wait up! Er..If you don't mind, Edy & I would like to join you girls as a group. Is it ok?"
"Of course we don't mind!" Kailin answered on Aijia's behalf.
It's too good to be true, Aijia thought. Although Edy didn't say it himself. She was still in the middle of 傻笑 when Kailin teased Aijia, "Wei, dreams coming true huh? Finally got the chance to be in the same group as your dream guy?"
Aijia only nodded shyly. 他一定在笑我刚才呆头呆脑的模样.

It was PE class but the teacher in charge had MC so there was a relief teacher who gave them free period. They can play the sports game they want. Some girls played netball, some played volleyball while the guys took over the basketball court & the soccer field.
While taking a break from a basketball 3-on-3 game, Zhiwei bought 2 cans of 100 plus from the vending machine & sat beside Edy. "Yo buddy! You didn't fare too well out in the court just now. What's bothering you? Girls?" Zhiwei ended with a teasing laugh.
Edy half smiled, "Stop teasing me. Of course I'm worrying about the project!" Both guys burst into laughters! "Nah! Just that.....Zhiwei, we've been friends for so long. What do you think of me as a person?"
Zhiwei was sipping from the 100 plus can. On hearing Edy's absurd question, he almost spilled them out from his mouth. "So that's what bothering our Xiao Jinghong 少爷." some chuckling but turned serious after seeing the stern look on Edy's face. "Well, you're tall, dark, dashing, intelligent, talented, smart. If you're more out-going, you'd probably make the perfect boyfriend. You've seen how girls go crazy about you. Almost all the girls from our level have the hots for you."
Edy didn't quite like Zhiwei's answer and asked another question, "Then is there anything bad about me at all?"
Zhiwei replied, "Erm...hmm...." He tried to come up with some examples but there wasn't any. "Actually, no. There's nothing bad about you when it comes to personality. Except probably you gotta speak up more. Don't always keep everything to yourself."
Edy was surprised with this answer, "Oh.... So that's all? To speak up more?"
Zhiwei was uncertain because of Edy's reaction, "Uh....yeah that's all. What's wrong?"
"Nothing, just wondering are girls that superficial to only judge people by their looks, their achievements?" Edy couldn't help wondering. 她应该不是这样的人吧?
"Woah! You seemed to have some sort of 打击 huh?" Zhiwei's being concerned but Edy just kept quiet. "Ah... I see. So you mean you think girls like you just because of your looks & your achievements instead of what you really are inside out?" Edy nodded. Zhiwei gave him a pat on the shoulder. "You don't really have to broad over this. You'll find The Special One who'd appreciate you for who you are. Com'on let's get back with the game."
Edy managed to let a smile, "Guess I must have think too much."
While both of them were walking back to the court, a netball rolled towards their direction. They looked to see where the netball was coming from then Edy looked up and came eye to eye with... Aijia.

enenmon: Isn't it cool to be in the same group as your dream guy? That must be a 幸福 feeling! And lucky for Edy, there was Zhiwei who helped him spoke up first. Ah Di seemed like a very sensitive new age guy person in the chapter so far. It's so sweet that he also felt something for Aijia! Can't wait to see how the story develop from there between the 2 of them. (25/03/2003)
