Asa Faulk Family I am researching the Asa Faulk family of Santa Rosa County, Florida. Asa was born in May, 1836 to Arnold Faulk and Sarah Cribb Faulk. Differing census records have listed his birth state as: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama. Asa moved to Santa Rosa Co. in the 1860's. Asa served Co. E 1st Infantry CSA during the Civil War. In 1864 he married a woman by the name of Charity Fortune. Charity was born in January 1840. Her father was born in North Carolina, according to census records. Nothing else is known about Charity's family. Asa and Charity lived in Santa Rosa County until their deaths in the early 1900's. According to "My Life Story", written by Irene Thomas, Charity died in 1900 due to heart trouble and Asa died in 1901. They had five children (three children did not survive) that for the most part lived their lives in Santa Rosa Co. Asa and Charity's children are as follows: Sarah "Sallie" Emma Faulk Annie Eliza Faulk Elsie Lucretia Faulk Daniel Franklin Faulk Elmyra Faulk Sarah "Sallie" Emma Faulk Annie Eliza Faulk Annie Eliza Faulk was born in April, 1871 in Santa Rosa County, Florida. On October 25, 1889, Annie Eliza married Benjamin Jere Hudson in Milton, Florida. Benjamin was born in July, 1871. They had four children: Frank, Evelyn, Margaret, and Annie Laurie. Frank Hudson was born in February,1893. Evelyn "Eva" Hudson was born in March, 1896. Margaret "Maggie" Hudson was born in September, 1898. Annie Laurie was born in 1901. Annie Laurie died just before Annie Eliza died in 1902. Elsie Lucretia Faulk Elsie Lucretia Faulk was born in 1874, in Santa Rosa County, Florida. Not much is known about Elsie. According to Irene Thomas, Elsie married a Greek man from Tampa, Florida named George Aleck. Elsie wuld come and visit Irene and Irene's mother, Elmyra Faulk Rasmussen, when they lived in Tapron Springs. According to another source, Elsie married a man by the name of conner and worked at the courthouse in Milton, Florida. Daniel Franklin Faulk Daniel Franklin Faulk was born on May 30, 1876 in Bagdad, Florida. On October 6, 1898, Daniel married Margaret "Mattie" Selena Kimmons in Santa Rosa County, Florida. Mattie was born on August 18, 1879 to Frank Kimmons and Elizabeth Leggett. Daniel and Mattie had six children: George Alexander ( Born May 7, 1900), Charity Elizabeth, Mattie Pearl, Lydia, Laura Letha, and Della Frances "Fred." Daniel and his son George are listed on the Santa Rosa County, Florida 1917-1918 Civilian Draft Registration. Daniel, Mattie, and George are also listed on the 1900 Santa Rosa County, Florida Census. George Alexander married Mattie Barefoot on October 14, 1917 in Pike County, Alabama. Mattie was born about 1899. George was a long-time railroad worker. He died on June 23, 1996. His obituary was listed in the Pensacola N-J. On January 24, 1949, Daniel died and was buried at Whitmire Cemetery in Escambia County, Florida, Row 6 Grave 350.
