Biotite (monoclinic mica) in Feldspar. This and the following two specimens, originally mined from a quarry 10 miles out of Bancroft were picked up from an old rock dump beside a railway line located a few hundred feet from the Chamber of Commerce.
Sodalite. Goulding-Keene Quarry, Dungannon Township.
Calcite.  Goulding-Keene Quarry, Dungannon Township.
Feldspar.  MacDonald Mine, Monteagle Township.
Actinolite crystals in Calcite.  Actinolite Roadcut, Monteagle Township.
Actinolite crystals.  Actinolite Roadcut, Monteagle Township. We have numerous samples available for exchange.  Please contact us if you are interested.
Almandine Garnet Dodecahedrons.  Upper Turriff Garnet Occurrence, Dungannan Township.  I'll never forget the excitement experienced by the side of the road that day.  As soon as the first Garnet was found, a sort of "fever" came over the group and everyone piled out of the cars (even those who were not especially interested in rock hunting) rolled up their sleeves and dove head first into the rusty schist pulling out perfectly formed (even if not jewelry quality) garnets.  I think we even forgot about the mosquitoes during the time we were there!
Large piece of the surrounding schist still containing several garnets.   Upper Turriff Garnet Occurrence, Dungannan Township.  As you can see in the picture, we have numerous samples of garnet available for exchange.  Please contact us if you are interested.
Apatite in Granite.  Musclow Occurrence, Monteagle Township.
Hematite and Quartz in Granite.  Musclow Occurrence, Monteagle Township.
Quartz.  MacDonald Mine, Monteagle Township.
