Nugget of Joy
Rather than seeds and the presence or absence of sweetness, Japanese people define fruits and vegetables based on whether or not they grow on trees.  So by this rationale, watermelons are vegetables.  When I pointed out that pineapples grow on shrubs, they shot back that cucumbers, traditionally and universally classified as vegetables, have seeds.  Touche.
