"Hey Liz, can you grab me a beer?" yelled said Boy as I walked outside to pick up a few empty glasses from a staff gathering they'd had the night before. That's right, I played the happy housekeeper, and lemme tell you... you'd think it wouldn't be so much trouble and work, but they sure as Hell were getting all the sevice they'd required and more. Not even Brian could save me last night from the writers, producers, mixers, whos-its and whats-its that just kept coming and coming last night! I knew they had friends and associates, but THAT many? I figured there were at least a good seventy cups strewn around the back area. And (oh Joy...) I got to pick up all of 'em.
"Hey LIZ!!!" came a gravelly voice from inside the house. I put down my trash sack and walked inside. "What did you want again?" I sighed, directing my remark at AJ and stretching out my sore back muscles. "Can I get a beer?" he asked for the second time, and I shook my head. "How do you drink that shit in the morning?" I asked, pulling open the fridge door and getting him his beer. "Better yet, how do you drink it period?" All I got from him was a loud, and I mean LOUD roaring/yawning sound that scared the bejesus out of me.
After AJ scared me to death, laughed at me, then mimicked my fright/flight technique of screaming 'like a woman' as he put it, he asked me to come down to the studio for about an hour. "Yeah, cuz I sing so well," I said, jokingly. He rolled his eyes at me. "You aren't that bad," he sighed, "but that's not the point. The point is there's something I wanted to show you. Kinda like a 'thank you' for helping last night." I stared at him. "OK, so you did EVERYTHING last night!" he chuckled, and I nodded approvingly. "Damn right I did. And what do want to show me?" He smiled and grabbed his cap from the table beside the couch. "It's for me to know and you to find out," he said mischieviously. I couldn't even guess...
