When the door creaked open I found myself face to face with my best friend, Serena. Serena? What was she doing here? "Surprise!" AJ laughed, swatting me on the butt and walking past us to the refreshments table on the other side of the room. I looked at Serena and screamed. "Oh my God! How did you get here?" I asked, grabbing her into a hug. "One of the travel people called me and told me you wanted me to come visit," she said, a question in her voice. "Oh, well I did want you to come down, but I never told-" I stopped in mid sentence, remembering the time I told Brian I wished Serena could come and see me. "That so awesome! Hey!" I yelled at AJ who was shoving some grapes in his mouth. "Whuh?" he tried to yell back, some juice dribbling into his goatee. "Thank you!" I yelled, hugging Serena again.
"So, Reen, what're we gonna do today?" I asked as she, AJ and I walked toward the recording areas where the rest of the gang was already warming up. We walked into the soundbooth and introductions were made all around. Everyone knew she was coming, but they'd not met her yet. "So you're the best friend Liz was telling me all, and I mean all, about," Brian said, winking at me and shaking Serena's hand. "Yeah. Um, she told me she was going to the Bahamas with a friend, but I didn't even think..." she said shyly, glancing nervously at me. "Yeah, well, um Serena, I'm kinda starving, so can we grab a bite to eat or something?" I asked her. "Oh. Yeah," she answered, still staring at everyone. "Don't worry, she'll get over it," I told them, leading Serena out the doors.
