Unadoptable by Mary Kellems

I'm just a red neck from Indiana with a wonderful husband I was raped at the age of ten by my step-father  my mother shot and killed him and herself  and I spent the next 8 yrs in a childrens home  I saw many children adopted and no one wanted the handicap one 's at the age of 16, I became a week-end house parent  and took care of some of the handicap children  I grew to love them  I left at 18 and met and married my husband  ten yrs older than me and his wife had left him after ten years of marriage because he could not have children either  .

I could not have children because of the rape  but God had a plan  and he opened doors no man could have opened  we had prayed for a child that needed us as much as we needed it  (Be careful of what you pray for God always gives you more than you ask for) God enlarged our heart and filled our home we adopted all our children we never went looking he brought them to us  some came 2 a year for a few years  I thought we  would need a ark or a really big shoe .
5 girls and 1 boy from all over Indiana  unadoptedable  was their label . none were sibbling  but all were hurt and unwanted . And God allowd us to parent them  never has there been a boring day . and we have grownn so much if I had to do it all over again I would say yes Lord even knowing some would go on before me . I find it an honor to parent them . I am forever learning from them what a blessing they are . Now my eyes are on heaven knowing some day if I endurth to the end   I will see them all again .
