PAIN by Leona Ebling

It is the beginning of another new day
I set here writing these words as pain hits me in waves

But it is bearable, the physical kind
Pain that is worse is the one suffered in the mind

Pain of seeing a loved one hurting suffering in body, mind or soul
Pain that seems to be so prevalent that it is more then can be told

I've watched pain caused from death, from divorce,
from things over which we have no control:

pain, from self inflicted sufferings,
pain, deep inside which wounds the soul.

Pain  that can be helped and pain from being helped
Pain from treatment given for a cure

Pain that seemed humanly impossible for one to endure

Thank you Lord that my pain today is bearable, though
the cause is to me unknown

Lord I believe in you, I'll trust in your word,
for the healing power already shown.
