~ Silent Storms ~by Ruth Gallant
Have you ever had a
day
That you wish had never come
Have you ever had a moment
That was forever troublesome
Did
you ever have to hide
In the deepness of your heart
What you were truly feeling
For you had no place to start
The
times there was no one to listen
For friends had better things to do
The days that seem to go on forever
That left you feeling only blue
Have
you ever had to smile
Because it is what others wanted to see
And yet inside your heart was breaking
For there was no hint of understanding
Have
you tried to sleep and sleep not come
For you are weathering another storm
Not the kind that brings clouds or rain
Just a feeling of being alone and lost forevermore
Have
you hid away in silence
For it was all you knew how to do
Or did you pray today for peace to come
To help you weather your silent storm
Silent
storms are the worse
To work through and overcome
It requires taking another look at you
And saying prayers to the Lord above
I
prayed today for my friends and me
Who I know are or have weathered silent storms
I prayed for those who have misunderstood us
Those who have overlooked or totally ignored
I
prayed for those who just don't see
That sometimes others weather silent storms
Because they take back their hand of friendship
Only adding fury and darkness to the storm
I
prayed for those who have never had
To weather a silent storm of their own
I prayed today for those who are
May they know they are never truly alone
For
although friends may sometimes fail you
And leave you stranded on rough seas
The Lord will always be there waiting
He is all you will ever need to succeed
So
when the storm is over
And you feel like you don't have to hide anymore
May you find those who will understand
For they too have weathered silent storms.
