Emerging Courageous Online Magazine - Poetry

One person in distress cries out,
And unseen voices promptly reply.
Rhythmic words of solace
Soothe just like a childhood lullaby.

The heart is feeling heavy;
The load too ponderous to bear;
But another day gone by
Means one less day of despair.

It's the fear of the unknown
That drains the core of our soul.
Can we truly feel a part of something
If we feel less than whole.

It's you that keeps me anchored
When I think the ground has disappeared.
It's you that keeps me hopeful
And lends a compassionate ear.

When traversing rough terrain
Or when life seems so unfair,
I'm thankful for your presence
And grateful that you care.
