They have no radio contact with us, but was in contact with Rampart Emergency and we are relaying through them. We have advised them to turn on lights and siren. Rampart also has advised us they are in a ravine. Time is vital on finding Squad 51 they are in a heavy fire area and Rampart has reported there is one critically condition. Engine 51 back track from last known place of Squad 51." said Sam. "10-4 LA" said Cap. "Come on boys we got to find Roy and Johnny!" yelled Cap as they loaded up there hoses and climbed aboard the fire truck. ........ Once Johnny got all the equipment on top of the squad he checked Roy�s' vitals, he was unconscious at this time.. He contacted Rampart again. "Rampart base squad 51 do you copy?" "Go ahead 51" said Brackett. "Ok Doc I got him moved he seems to have a lot of trouble breathing now he is also unconscious. Be advised Rampart smoke has gotten thicker. I placed a nasual canula on him under his face mask with oxygen on." "10-4, what are his vitals Johnny?" asked Brackett. "Vitals are p. 120, rep. 36 and shallow, b/p is 100/60." Brackett frowned. then said "Any word on how much longer till they find them?" he asked Dixie. "No." she said. "Johnny there is still no eta on finding you guys." said Brackett. "10-4 doc, be advised were losing the light it's getting smokier by the minute." said Johnny. Night was also coming and with all the smoke he couldn't see very far. He hoped the engine crew would find them soon. "10-4 51 hang in there guys helps on the way." said Brackett. "Be advised Johnny, someone will monitor the base station at all times in case you need to get hold of LA dispatch or to just talk." said Brackett. "10-4 Doc thanks I may need someone to talk to." said Johnny. "I'll be me more then happy to talk to you Johnny." came Dixie�s voice over the bio-phone. Johnny laughed "10-4 Rampart" Johnny sat the phone back down and checked Roy�s vitals again. "Hmm?" moaned Roy. "Hey partner welcome back." smiled Johnny. Roy reached up to remove the mask. "Hey leave that lone." said Johnny moving Roy�s hand away. "Something in my nose" he said weakly. "That's the nasal canula." said Johnny. Roy gave him a funny look "Just a little more oxygen to help you breath how. You feeling?" Johnny asked checking Roy�s lungs. "Bad." said Roy. "As in how Roy?" asked Johnny looking at him. Roy eyes suddenly rolled back in his head and he began to shake all over. Johnny held on to Roy to keep him from falling off the side of the squad. Johnny grabbed the bio phone with the other hand and said "Rampart Base 51 do you copy?" Dixie and Brackett sat at the counter they had the door prop open incase Johnny called. They could tell something was wrong by Johnny�s voice. "Go ahead 51?" "Doc he's gone into some kind of seizure." yelled Johnny. "Give him 5 milligrams of phenabaratol iv push." said Brackett. "Stand by." said Johnny and dropped the phone and grabbed the drug and messure the amount and injected the medication into Roy�s arm via the IV. After a couple of seconds later Roy�s body relaxed, Johnny took a deep breath and rolled Roy back on the left of the squad. he grabbed the bio phone and said "Rampart, seizure has ended stand by for vitals." "Standing by" said Brackett. "Doesn't sound good. they need to find them soon or he's going lose Roy." said Brackett. Dixie looked down at the fire dispatchers box. As if waiting to hear they found them. she was scared for both of her friends, and wished she could go right out to them and help them. "Rampart vitals are pulse 120 and rapid, resp 30 and b/p 100.70. Patient seams to be resting." said Johnny "10-4 Johnny what happen?" asked Brackett. "Don't really know Doc. He woke up and said he felt bad. When I asked him what he meant by that, he rolled his eyes and had the seizure." said Johnny little short of breath. "Are you ok?' asked Brackett. "yeah just surprised me, caught me off guard. Man I wish those guys would get here soon." said Johnny. he was tired and his ankle was hurting. "Hold on Johnny I know they'll get there soon." said Brackett. Roy coughed a couple of times. Johnny quickly was at his side. "Johnny?" asked Roy. "Yeah I'm still here how you feeling?" "Tired, stomach....... really hurts,....... nauseated, any sign...... of help?" he asked slowly. "Shhh your not suppose to be talking." smiled Johnny. "If your going be sick let me know in advance so I can remove your mask so you won't choke on it." said Johnny. Roy rolled his eyes. "Seriously Roy how you doing?" "Ok I guess what happen? I remember telling you I felt bad and weak up to now." he said Johnny looked at Roy. His eyes told Roy something was wrong. "What ? What! What happen?" asked Roy in a panic and started to sit up." He grabbed his side in pain. "Easy easy, Roy relax! come on that it slow breaths it's alright." said Johnny helping Roy to lay back down as Roy tried to get his breath. "Johnny what..... aren't ... you ... you telling me?'" gasped Roy. "Nothing really you had a seizure probably from your head injury it was a short minor one. relax ok. your going to be fine how is your side?" asked Johnny taking his pulse... "Getting harder............breath..... " gasped Roy "Ok let me turn up the flow of the oxygen." Johnny turned the valve to open it a little more he was trying not to use up to much air. Even though they had 4 extra bottles of air on the squad, all air they had was percise they had no idea when someone would find them. Johnny also new the fire was getting dangerously close to the squad. "Here Roy lets try and sit you up some." said Johnny. he took off Roy's turn out coat and prop Roy up with it. "That helping any?" he asked once he was done. "A little" gasped Roy. Johnny new Roy was going into Respiratory distress. "Rampart base squad 51" said Johnny "Go ahead 51" came Brackett�s voice. "doc patient seams to be having increase difficulty in breathing. I was able to prop him up a little. Patient says it is helping a little. Increased the intake flow to the face mask." " good job Johnny is it helping any?" asked Brackett "A little doc., any word on dispatch on finding us?" asked Johnny. "nope sorry hang in there guys" said Brackett. Johnny hung up the phone again. "Dam it, we've gotta get out of here soon." said Johnny looking around. "Fires getting way to close. I'm going use the extinguisher to see if I can back it off a little while." said Johnny. Roy didn't like the sound of that. He tried to sit up a little to sit up a little to keep an eye on on his friend. He found it more difficult to breath the more he got into ta sitting position . He stayed up right anyway to keep an eye on Johnny. Johnny hopped off the back the squad and grabbed a fire extinguisher and began to spraying in front of the squad at the flames that were licking close to them. Johnny sprayed a pretty wide area with the extinguisher. he'd made a dent but the fire was winning. Johnny turned to head back towards the squad, as he stepped on a rock that rolled under his leg. Johnny heard his ankle snap as he fell. He tired not to cry out in pain. Roy would hear him. Not knowing Roy had seen all. Roy was within reach of the bio phone. He grabbed the phone and pushed the button "Rampart base 51 here?" "Repeat squad 51 we can bearly hear you." said Brackett. Roy cleared his throat "Rampart 51 here!:" yelled Roy. "Roy is that you?" asked Brackett. "yes Johnny�s down got to help him." yelled Roy so he could be heard. "Roy you can't, stay put!" yelled Brackett. Roy snored at Brackett.
