What is EC About?

Established in 2008 with three founding chapters in Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, and New York City, the Emerald Connection(EC) is a global institution and intellectual society that offers a place where members provide mutual and essential support or necessary means to each other. The organization also provides information and resources to benefit those individuals or entities who share common or similar ideals with Emerald Connection so they can develop themselves to contribute to the cause in future:

1. EC offers local information and orientation support to individuals from Taiwan seek to increase their value through education or profession abroad.

2. EC offers quality information and preparatory programs to assist individuals of foreign nationalities seek to contribute their talents and special skills to Taiwan via political or economical channels.

3. EC offers important insights pertaining to the public policies in relation to Taiwan for foreign and Taiwanese authorities of political, research, or scholastic nature.

How does EC work?

Partially inspired by the efficiency and closely knitted nature of most religious organizations, Emerald Connection was founded with the idea of empowering local chapters to be the fundamental and primary source of power to operate the organization as a whole. EC understands that the quality of organization and its ability to fulfill its purpose and objectives depend on the quality of the members within. EC operates with "Chapter Confederacy" system where major organizational decisions are made collectively by each chapter management team. Every chapter enjoys great deal of autonomy within the broad and sensible guidelines of Emerald Connection and with maximum membership in a chapter limited to a manageable number, it allows every member bountiful opportunities to become a leader either in existing chapter or a new chapter. Emerald Connection desires to create great leaders of the world for that has always been scarce. EC chapters seek to be involved in their local communities and garner the strengths and resources from every corner of the human civilization to realize what the organization supports as a whole.

What does EC support?

Emerald Connection is not a non-partisan social organization, and it does have its own collective set of values and political stance. The official stance or political platform of Emerald Connection on Taiwan is as below:

1. Emerald Connection supports an independent and sovereign republic of Taiwan. Emerald Connection recognizes the sovereignty of Taiwan belongs to the natural persons native to Taiwan and therefore the ultimate decision makers of Taiwanese sovereignty.

2. Emerald Connection supports a matured and civilized representative democratic political system for Taiwan that meets or exceeds with global standard in human rights and political liberty.

3. Emerald Connection supports a free market economy with maximum economic liberty and enough government administration to ensure proper international and domestic trading practices are in place and international sanctioned regulations and measures are considered and complied.

4. Emerald Connection supports Taiwanese education and cultural reforms that serve to elevate the overall level of education quality and Taiwanese awareness of historical facts and social identity.

5. Emerald Connection supports all policies aim to create an environmentally friendly and socially responsible Taiwan.

6. Emerald Connection supports a Taiwan with adequate national defense capabilities to deter any forms of foreign aggression or threat and accessibilities to achieve this goal through domestic research or foreign transaction.

7. Emerald Connection supports full membership and its benefits for Taiwan in all international organizations where any independent sovereign state may join. The organization supports countries establishing normal diplomacy with Taiwan and allowing its full participation in efforts that can help resolve international issues and disputes in peaceful and civilized manner in accordance to international laws.

8. Emerald Connection and its individual chapters hope to garner support and resources by ways of civil and lawful political events or lobbying from non-Taiwanese authorities, institutions, and population to support the cause without in any way directly infringe or violate the established statutes and ethical standards of the countries which the chapters are situated.

How can I join EC?

Emerald Connection values its members and fully understands that our members are the comparative advantage of the organization its self so the organization selects its members base on merit. Since every member must be a part of a local chapter, so the local chapters are primarily responsible for making decision for membership admission as long as it complies with the organization's general guidelines.
